Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about buying, selling, and renting properties in Nepal.

General Questions

We cover major cities across Nepal including Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. Our expansive network allows us to help you find properties in both urban centers and emerging suburban areas.
Yes! At Everest Properties, we have a strict verification process. Our agents physically verify the properties and check the essential legal documents (like the Lalpurja) before listing them on our platform to ensure a safe transaction for our buyers.

Buying a Property

Generally, foreign nationals are not permitted to buy or own land in Nepal. However, foreign companies can acquire land for business purposes under specific conditions and approvals from the Department of Industry. Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) are allowed to purchase property up to a certain limit for residential purposes.
Our standard agency commission is typically paid by the seller, not the buyer. For buying, our consultation and property matching services are free of charge. If specific buyer-agent agreements are made, all fees are transparently discussed upfront.
You will need your citizenship certificate (or NRN card if applicable), passport-size photographs, and proof of income if you are applying for a bank loan. The seller will provide the Lalpurja (Land Ownership Certificate), tax clearance, and blueprint of the property.

Selling a Property

You can easily list your property by clicking the "List Property" button in the top navigation bar. You'll need to fill out a simple form with property details and photos. One of our agents will then contact you to verify the listing before it goes live.
The time to sell a property can vary greatly depending on the location, condition, and asking price. On average, a well-priced property in a desirable area of Kathmandu can sell within 3 to 6 months. Our marketing strategies are designed to minimize this timeframe.
